"Gender experts: A new professional profile for Equal opportunities", ES/04/B/F/PP-149 184
The project moves from the acknowledgment that there is a lack of gender experts in the field of Vocational training. The project aims to define a training itinerary for Equal Opportunities to foster a higher awareness of gender equality. Education and Training can be an efficient tool to reduce the Gender Inequality Situations; it can promote change of attitudes and behaviours by making up the Equality of Opportunities between men and women in the Education Field throughout an innovative method that can professionally qualify "the Gender Experts". The creation of a new Professional Profile is really needed: " Expert in Equality of Opportunities" who can specifically act in the rural world.
OBJECTIVES
- To establish the basis to develop a Training Method able to train for a professional qualification as "Gender Experts"; by fostering the young and women participants competences and aptitudes in the field of Equal Opportunities
- To promote and to foster the Project participants´ qualification so that their back participation in Society (specially the disadvantaged people and the rural realm women) can revert in a better Equal Opportunities and best Quality of Life.
- To train for setting up an qualified employment that will force to maintain up to date all those new professionals, by revaluing their social recognition and developing their personal maturity in such a way that the "gender equality" can be introduced little by little in all Living Fields and not only in the Educative one.
TARGET GROUPS AND SECTORS
- Trainers training in Equal Opportunities.
These ones will leader the customized and integral training for:
- Young People who are older than 16 and youngest than 21 who have no finished the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO).
- Non Scholarized WOMEN AND OTHER YOUNG People.
- Young People who are older than 21 and youngest than 25 who have no Professional Training Studies but wanting a qualification in that field to enter the labour market.
- Non Qualified Women who want to enter the labour market; unemployed women who left the labour market to assist their family duties; Rural Areas Women who want to be specialized. Disabled and Disadvantage People.
PRODUCTS AND RESULTS
- Good Practices Guide in five languages, which includes the customized integral itinerary in equal opportunities agents.
- Creation of an European "gender experts network".
- Organization of three European Seminars on "Gender Experts Exchange of Experiences".
- Web page including and promoting the itinerary training to become a gender expert.
- Using the transnational association created to promote an European Partnership of Equal Opportunities Agents in order to work together and permanently.
- Dissemination of the Training Itinerary among the Educational Public and Private Centres in the Formal and non formal educational system from the partners´ countries.
